Quick Answer

No. Every pod made for a Bartesian® machine comes from Bartesian. I could not find a single off-brand, generic or knock-off pod for sale, and there is a clear reason why. If your real goal is cheaper pods, there are honest ways to pay less, and the savings section below walks through each one.

Why are there no off-brand Bartesian® pods?

Bartesian owns the patents. Bartesian Inc. holds a U.S. patent on its machine and the capsule that goes in it, plus a separate design patent on the capsule itself. Both are active. Coffee pods show why that matters. Keurig and Nespresso pods only got off-brand copies after their patents ran out. Bartesian's patents have not run out, and that is why no other company sells a pod built for the machine.

The pod also has to talk to the machine. Every capsule has a barcode printed on the lid. When you close the lid, the machine reads that barcode. It then knows which drink it is making, which spirit to pull and how much water to add. A pod without a real Bartesian barcode gives the machine nothing to read.

Every pod carries its own barcode on the lid. The machine reads it before it pours.

Do bev by BLACK+DECKER pods work in a Bartesian?

There was never a separate bev pod. The bev by BLACK+DECKER was a cocktail machine made in partnership with Bartesian, and it ran only on Bartesian capsules.

The bev has since been discontinued. If you still own one, it runs on Bartesian capsules, so a "bev pod" is a Bartesian pod.

What turns up when you search for "Bartesian compatible" pods?

Storage, not pods. When I searched Amazon for Bartesian compatible pods on October 13, 2026, every pod on the first page of results was a real Bartesian pod. Everything else was something to hold pods: drawers, carousels, racks and organizers. There were also bottle labels, carrying bags and coffee pods for other machines.

eBay and Etsy looked the same. The listings were genuine Bartesian boxes being resold, or holders and accessories.

In my search, a product that said "compatible with Bartesian" was an accessory, not a pod. Read the listing closely before you buy.

Can you refill a Bartesian pod instead?

Not in a way that makes a new drink. Some owners peel the foil off a used pod, refill it and reseal it. The barcode on the lid never changes, so the machine still makes the drink that pod was made for. I cover this in my guide, Can You Make Your Own Bartesian Pods?

How can you spend less on Bartesian pods?

Compare the price per pod, not the price per box. Boxes come in different sizes, so the price per pod is the fair way to compare. Here is what I found as of October 2026. Prices change often, so check the current price before you buy.

Subscribe and save

This was the cheapest way to buy that I found. Bartesian advertises savings of up to 35% with a cocktail subscription. On my own subscription screen, the discount depends on how many items you put in your box:

Items in the boxDiscount
25% off
37% off
412% off
515% off
620% off
815% off

One odd thing: when I checked, 8 items showed a smaller discount than 6.

Here is the math on one pod, Witch's Heart, as of October 2026. On Bartesian's regular shop page it was $24.96 for a box of 8, about $3.12 a pod. In my subscription box, the same pod was listed at $19.99 a box before the discount. With 6 items in the box, the 20% discount brings that box to about $15.99, or about $2.00 a pod.

That is about 36% less than the regular shop price. I only checked this closely on Witch's Heart, so other pods may work out differently.

Subscribers also get 50% off accessories, and Bartesian ships free on orders over $50 in the U.S.

Check the price per pod on Amazon

Some Bartesian pods cost less per pod on Amazon. As of October 13, 2026, Amazon had the Classic Collection 6-pack at $14.95, about $2.49 a pod. Its 24-packs ran $69.99, about $2.92 a pod. Both beat Bartesian's regular price of about $3.12 a pod, but not the subscription. Amazon prices move often, so check before you count on them.

Buy ahead, but only what will keep

Bigger boxes lower the price per pod, and a subscription rewards bigger orders. Buying ahead only saves money if you drink the pods while they are good. Before you stock up, read my guide, Do Bartesian Pods Expire?, which covers how long pods last and how to store them.

Storing extra pods the right way is what makes buying ahead pay off.

Time your order around a sale

Bartesian runs holiday sales through the year, and Black Friday is usually the deepest. In past sales, some machine deals asked you to add pod boxes to the order. That can be a good time to stock up if you are buying a machine anyway. My guide, When Does a Bartesian Go on Sale?, has the full sale calendar and the Black Friday 2026 dates.

Remember the spirit is the other half of the cost

A Bartesian pod holds only the mix. You pour your own spirit into the Spirit Bottle, so the spirit you pick is a big part of what each drink costs. I have run the same gin pods with Bombay Dry and with Empress Indigo, and they made two very different drinks. My guide, Best Liquors for Bartesian Pods, covers what real owners pour.

Duet owners, check the pod first

Some pods do not work in the Duet. The Long Island Collection is one of them. If you own a Duet, check the pod's page before you buy.

So what is the cheapest way to buy Bartesian pods?

From what I found in October 2026, a subscription with 6 items gave the lowest price per pod, about $2.00. Amazon came next for some packs, about $2.49. Bartesian's regular shop price was about $3.12. There are no off-brand pods to undercut any of them.
