The Short Version
The Black+Decker Bev was a cocktail maker built with Bartesian. It ran only on Bartesian capsules and held up to five store-bought liquor bottles at a time, pouring from the one each drink called for. The Bev appears to be discontinued, and for a new machine, Bartesian's Classic, Premier and Professional come closest.
What Was the Bev by Black+Decker?
The bev by BLACK+DECKER was announced on February 8, 2022, by Black+Decker, a Stanley Black & Decker brand, and Bartesian. The two companies first showed it at CES in Las Vegas that year, at an estimated price of $299.
It reached stores on July 20, 2022, on Amazon and at other retailers, for $299. According to Black+Decker's launch announcement, the Bev worked only with Bartesian capsules. It read the barcode on each capsule lid and made a drink in about 30 seconds.
The Bev held six bottles, three on each side: up to five store-bought 750 ml liquor bottles, one each for gin, vodka, tequila, rum and whiskey, plus a glass water bottle. Owners loaded their bottles once and only had to refill the water. It offered four strengths: mocktail, light, regular and strong. LED lights under the bottles showed which liquor was pouring, a party mode ran light patterns, and a shaker icon lit up when a drink was better shaken over ice.
The Bev appears to be discontinued. Black+Decker has made no official statement that it is no longer made. As of November 2026, it is no longer sold on Black+Decker's site, and Amazon and Walmart both show it out of stock. The only ones left are secondhand machines from resellers, some still in the box.

What Did the Bev Do Differently?
The biggest difference was the bottles. The Bev connected straight to standard 750 ml liquor bottles from the store. Today's Bartesian machines take spirit in their own Spirit Bottles, which the owner fills and sets in the Spirit Bottle Holders. The Duet holds two at a time. The Classic, Premier and Professional hold four, with a fifth bottle in the box for swapping.
Black+Decker also made a battery model. The cordless Bev (model BCHB101) was announced on June 21, 2023, at an estimated $399. It ran on a Black+Decker 20V MAX battery that charged while the machine was plugged in. Black+Decker rated it at more than 250 drinks per charge, tested with a Long Island Iced Tea capsule at regular strength, and said it rinsed itself after each drink. None of Bartesian's current machines runs on a battery.
Which Bartesian Should You Buy Instead?
Today's Bartesian machines run on the same capsule line the Bev was built for. Here is where each one fits. Our side-by-side Bartesian machine comparison covers all four in more detail.
Duet ($299.99)
The Duet is the smallest and least expensive Bartesian. It holds two Spirit Bottles, so it suits owners who stick to one or two spirits. It cannot make Long Island Iced Tea or the Long Island Collection drinks.
Classic ($349.99)
Bartesian is selling its original machine again as the Classic (formerly the Premium), listed at $349.99, down from its regular $399.99. It holds four Spirit Bottles plus a spare and makes every Bartesian capsule.
Premier ($399.99)
The Premier is the machine Bartesian marks Best Seller on its site. It holds four Spirit Bottles plus a spare and makes every capsule. Our Bartesian Premier review covers it in detail.
Professional ($399.99)
The Professional adds lockable Spirit Bottles, with two keys in the box, and NSF certification. Like the Classic and Premier, it holds four Spirit Bottles plus a spare and makes every capsule.
