Quick Verdict
Berry & Bright is a great easy sipper. It has berry and sweetness up front, and it is smooth. It is not overly sweet and not overly bitter. As the ice melts, the tequila comes forward, in a good way.

What Is Berry & Bright?
Bartesian describes Berry & Bright as a tequila drink with shimmer, made with blueberry, lemon and a hint of cardamom.
I looked for the history of this drink and did not find any drinks called Berry & Bright or anything similar. So this is a Bartesian original, not a classic cocktail.
Where Does the Berry & Bright Pod Come From?
Berry & Bright is one of three drinks that are new in Bartesian's 2026 Advent Calendar. So far, it is sold only in the calendar. All 12 drinks are in my guide to the 2026 Bartesian® Advent Calendar.
Berry & Bright was behind door 20 of my calendar. That is the door for December 20. The calendar holds 12 drinks, meant to be opened in order leading up to Christmas. Obviously, I did not follow that order. I wanted to taste the three new pods first. Berry & Bright was the first of the three. The second was Frosted Ambrosia. Read my Frosted Ambrosia review.
I redeemed my pre-order on the night of October 15, and the box arrived on Sunday, October 18. This box shipped to me in the Northeast, and it came quickly. When I am down south, my Bartesian orders sometimes take a little longer.
The calendar's general sale opened October 22, 2026, at $34.99.
The capsule says Load Tequila. Bartesian's site recommends a highball. For the garnish, Bartesian suggests blueberries and a rosemary sprig. Bartesian's text does not mention ice, but the picture on the capsule lid appears to show ice.
How Did I Make It?
I made it on my Bartesian® Premier, set to Regular. I used Casamigos Blanco. I've never had that brand of tequila before, so it's new for me. I wrote a guide to the best liquors to use in your Bartesian, if you want to see what other owners pour.
I made it into a shaker with ice. I shook it and poured it over ice in a highball. The drink did not fill the whole glass. I left the rest in the shaker with ice to taste later.
I put three blueberries on a pick and laid the rosemary on top of the glass. Not in the drink. I did not want the fresh rosemary to change the taste. I took the blueberries and the rosemary off before tasting. On a first tasting, I want to know how the pod stands on its own.
What Does Berry & Bright Taste Like?
I tasted it right after I poured it, before the ice could melt. I did not smell it first.
The first sip was smooth, with berry and sweetness up front. There was no aftertaste. It leans a little sweet at first, but it is not overly sweet. It finishes slightly dry. I did not get much of an alcohol taste.
At first I thought I tasted a little rosemary. I think it was the tequila in the background.
The color is a deep cranberry, close to a maroon or purple. It has shimmer. Over ice, the shimmer is harder to see. It is not like the Witch's Heart, which is shaken and served up. In that drink you can swirl the glass and watch the shimmer move, like stirring a witch's cauldron.
First Note
Berry and sweetness up front.
Second Note
Smooth, with no aftertaste.
Third Note
A little tequila in the background.
Finish
Slightly dry.
Does It Change as the Ice Melts?
Yes. As the ice melted, it turned into a very mellow, easy drink. By about halfway, the tequila was coming through more. It was not hot, and it did not burn. The taste of the tequila came forward, in a good way. Near the bottom of the glass, it was stronger still.
Then I poured what was left in the shaker into my glass. It had been sitting in the shaker with ice. It tasted just about the same, with a little more tequila coming through.

Final Verdict: 8.5/10
I like it. It is a great easy sipper. It has balance. It is not overly sweet, and it is not overly bitter.
I have not tasted it served up yet. I am curious whether the berry would stay in front for the whole drink that way. I am also curious how it would taste with vodka, and how vodka would change it as the ice melts.
So far, I have been impressed with Bartesian's seasonal releases. In my opinion, the Halloween pods were outstanding. I first fell in love with the Caramel Appletini, but now I reach for the Sour Spell over it.
